Washington quarterback Dermaricus Davis is pulling his name out of the transfer portal and intends to remain in Seattle.

The 2024 signee initially entered the portal earlier this week to explore his options. He announced on Thursday that he is sticking it out with the Huskies and new coach Jedd Fisch. Davis was a 4-star quarterback in the industry-generated 247 Composite, and gives the Huskies a little bit of relief in the quarterback room heading into spring.

“HUSKY NATION! I’m staying at the CRIB,” Davis posted on social media. “Time to turn the city up!!!”

Earlier this week, former Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers also announced that he’ll remain with UW. Rogers, Davis, and former Arizona quarterback Demond Williams Jr. will compete for the starting job in the spring.

As a senior, the 6-foot-5 Davis threw for 25 touchdowns and ran for another seven. He was the 20th-ranked quarterback in the class and a top-30 recruit in the state of California.

“He’s got all the measurables, from the height, being able to run and move around with his feet, extend plays that way,” former head coach Kalen DeBoer said after he signed last month. “I love what he does with his arm strength, his arm talent, his accuracy.”

Fisch has seemingly made a great first impression on his new team. The new head coach reportedly delivered an “electric” team meeting earlier in the week and a host of players took to social media to show support for him immediately after. Four-star 2024 linebacker signee Khmori House also pulled his name out of the portal in favor of staying at UW.
