Washington had a team meeting on Monday morning with new head coach Jedd Fisch and the roster, according to 93.3 KJR’s Dave Mahler. The meeting featured a standing ovation for Fisch, with one player describing it as “electric,” according to Mahler.

Following the meeting, Washington players hit social media with all kinds of messages of support for Fisch and Washington.

With Kalen DeBoer leaving for Alabama and so many key pieces of the 2023 title team moving on, Washington’s foundation was looking shaky. In recent days, things have started looking more and more stable.

On Sunday, Kamren Fabiculanan — a defensive back who stands to be a major force in the UW defense next season — quieted concerns he might leave.

Fabiculanan then went on 93.3 KJR on Monday to talk about his decision to stay. He said Fisch came across as genuine and family-oriented. He also said, “The community, Seattle, Washington itself, you can’t beat it.”

Regarding Fisch replacing DeBoer after a Pac-12 title and a run to the national championship game, Fabiculanan expressed optimism.

“We all gonna be fine with him,” Fabiculanan said. “Y’all will see.”
