After a summer circuit that saw Jurrion Dickey wow scouts and recruiting analysts the country over, the 5-star wide receiver has become one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2023 class.

Dickey is a top-20 prospect in the 247 Composite. As of right now, he’s verbally committed to Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.

In recent months, buzz about a possible Miami flip has been rampant on social media. Some might say it’s Miami fans trying to speak something into existence. But a recruiting writer in the Oregon area tweeted earlier this week things are “far from done.” Dickey took an unofficial visit to Miami back in June.

On Saturday, the talented wide receiver made his debut for Menlo-Atherton High School to open his senior season and completely took control of a game in which his team fell behind early but came back to win by double-digits. After, a Miami fan on Twitter spliced together some highlights from the game and called Dickey a future Hurricane.

To which Dickey’s response was simple.

“I’m staying a Duck, but love the video,” he said.

This isn’t the first time Dickey has taken to Twitter to directly shut down Miami speculation, and it might not even be the last. There’s a long way to go before the early signing period in December, and both Oregon and Miami are set to open important seasons this week.

The Canes have received a ton of love this offseason, touted as a threat in the ACC in Mario Cristobal’s first season. The Ducks are perhaps being a little undervalued as a Pac-12 threat, obviously a step behind Utah after last season’s results but also seemingly overshadowed by USC. Lanning will have the squad on national TV to open the season against the defending national champions.
