Cal announced that running back Jaivian Thomas was released from the hospital after hitting his head on the turf on Saturday.

Thomas had to leave the Oregon game via stretcher after the fall. Thomas suffered the injury during a run play on first-and-goal. Thomas now heads back to the Bay Area since being released.

“Jaivian Thomas was released from Sacred Heart Medical Center Riverbend in Eugene on Sunday and is en route to the Bay Area,” said the team in the announcement.

Justin Wilcox confirmed that Thomas was alert and was able to interact with doctors. Wilcox also stated that Thomas had movement in all extremities.

Thomas was a member of the 2023 class and was in his first season with the Golden Bears this year. The 247Sports Composite ranked him as the No. 61 RB out of Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds.
