Kenny Dillingham is unfazed by the lack of faith in Arizona State in 2023.

The Sun Devils were picked to finish 10th in the Pac-12’s preseason media poll, which was released this week. Only Colorado and Stanford were picked below Arizona State.

Dillingham was asked about his team’s placement in the poll.

“If enough people see us that way, I believe it’s fair,” Dillingham said, but said it won’t define ASU’s season in 2023. “I want to see us compete and get better every day.”

Arizona State is coming off of a 3-9 campaign in 2023. The Sun Devils had reached bowl eligibility in 4 straight seasons (excluding 2020’s pandemic season) prior to last year.

Dillingham has put in a lot of work this offseason as he prepares for Year 1. Arizona State signed 29 transfers to go along with 20 high prospects in the class of 2023. That means more than half the roster has turned over since the end of last season.

Three of those newcomers play the quarterback position. Arizona State brought in Notre Dame transfer Drew Pyne, BYU transfer Jacob Conover and 4-star freshman Jaden Rashada this offseason. Trenton Bourguet is also expected to compete for the starting job.

ASU will begin the 2023 season against Southern Utah on Aug. 31.
