Washington State dismisses second-year offensive player from team
Washington State running back Jaylen Jenkins has been dismissed for a violation of team rules, coach Jake Dickert shared on Monday.
Dickert stated there is a standard to be upheld and Wazzu and didn’t offer any more detail beyond that. Jenkins had carried the ball 20 times in six games this season. At the time of publication, Jenkins had already been removed from the team’s online roster.
A native of Allen, Texas, Jenkins came to Wazzu in the 2022 class and appeared in 12 games as a true freshman.
He carried the ball 68 times for 396 yards and one touchdown.
This season, Washington State has been led by Nakia Watson on the ground. The senior has 59 carries for 173 yards and four touchdowns. Dylan Paine has also logged 20 rushing attempts for 121 yards and a score.
Washington State seldom runs the ball, instead leaning on Cameron Ward and the pass game.
The Cougs face Arizona State on Saturday at 5 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Network.
