Washington is reportedly looking at another NFL coach with former Florida and Alabama quarterback Luke Del Rio expected to join Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff after a stint in the NFL.

According to college football insider Bruce Feldman, Del Rio is expected to join Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff at Washington. The role for Del Rio would be that of an offensive analyst with the Huskies.

Del Rio has spent the past four seasons in the NFL with the Washington Football Team/Washington Commanders. The past two seasons included Del Rio serving as an assistant quarterbacks coach and offensive quality control role.

The son of longtime coach and former NFL head coach Jack Del Rio, Luke began his college career at Alabama in the 2013 season. After not seeing much playing time behind AJ McCarron and Blake Sims, he transferred to Oregon State and spent one season with the Beavers before returning to the SEC at Florida.

Del Rio would see time with the Gators during the 2016 and 2017 seasons with his most playing time coming with over 1,300 yards and 8 touchdowns with 8 interceptions during the 2016 season.

Del Rio would be another coach with NFL experience joining Fisch’s staff with the Huskies, including former Alabama standout Vinnie Sunseri and Steve Belichick, the son of legendary head coach Bill Belichick.
