Washington quarterback Dylan Morris has entered the transfer portal, according to 247Sports’ Chris Hummer.

A 2019 signee, Morris spent five seasons with the Huskies and served as the starter in 2020 and 2021. He has been Michael Penix Jr.’s primary backup for each of the last two seasons. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.

According to Dawgman’s Scott Eklund, Morris will remain with the team through the College Football Playoff run and be available for the Huskies.

Morris is a former 4-star recruit and a Puyallup native. The industry-generated 247 Composite had him ranked as the No. 4 pro-style quarterback coming out of high school.

He redshirted in 2019, then completed 67 of his 110 passes for 897 yards and four touchdowns in four starts during the 2020 season. In 2021, Morris threw for 2,458 yards and 14 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.

With Kalen DeBoer bringing Penix to town in 2022, Morris has attempted just 30 passes over the last two seasons, completing 18 of them. With Washington protecting Penix with the best of them, Morris has only been needed to close out contests in garbage time.

Penix will exhaust his eligibility once the season comes to a close. UW has been linked to several transfer portal quarterbacks, and it also has 4-star 2023 signee Austin Mack on the roster. Mack reclassified from the 2024 class and joined the Huskies a year early.
