Washington wide receivers Jalen McMillan and Rome Odunze will be available on Saturday when the seventh-ranked Huskies host the eighth-ranked Oregon Ducks.

Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb confirmed Monday at UW’s weekly press conference that both players are healthy and expected to play against the Ducks. Odunze took a hard hit late in the Arizona win in Week 5, and McMillan hasn’t played since the Week 3 win over Michigan State.

“You should have seen him yesterday,” Grubb said of McMillan. “He looked great, ready to roll. Same thing (for Odunze). Ready to go.”

Odunze and McMillan are both NFL talents. Odunze went into the bye week leading the Pac-12 in receiving (608 yards) while McMillan ranked third in the conference in per-game yardage (103.7).

Head coach Kalen DeBoer said after the Arizona game he didn’t think the hit to Odunze was anything serious, but he admitted the following Monday that it was probably more of a situation than he realized immediately after the win.

“Definitely took a hit there. You can see it on TV and everything. He’s doing well right now. Little sore. Some things like that,” DeBoer said last week. “We’ll definitely use both of these weeks to have him come back. So, more than what I thought — thought it was just the wind knocked out of him — but he’ll be fine.”

Washington fans were hopeful, but DeBoer also took a “nothing to worry about” approach to McMillan’s situation — he left the Michigan State game at halftime — and then McMillan missed two consecutive games.

UW has excellent receiver depth, with Ja’Lynn Polk filling in splendidly for McMillan in recent weeks and Germie Bernard giving UW a WR4 who could be a WR1 or WR2 at most other places in the league.

If all four are rolling for the Huskies on Saturday, the No. 1 passing offense in college football will be on full display.
