Washington lands commitment from JUCO edge rusher
Things moved awfully quick, but when you know you know.
Washington extended an offer to College of San Mateo edge rusher target Sekai Afoa-Asoau on May 6. This past weekend, he was in town on an official visit. A trip to USC was planned for next weekend, according to 247Sports, but Washington showed enough. It’s the Huskies for Afoa-Asoau, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound prospect in the 2022 class.

Afoa-Asoau played his prep ball for Fife (Wash.) High School and then began his college career with Central Washington, but elected to transfer during the COVID season and played for San Mateo last fall. He totaled 20 tackles and four tackles for loss in six games.
His commitment gives Washington a bit more size to add to its front seven, and he’ll have two years to play for coach Kalen DeBoer. Afoa-Asoau plays with some violence.
