Washington has earned a commitment from one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the transfer portal.

The Huskies are adding former Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers to their roster for the 2024 season, according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Rogers took an official visit to Washington earlier this week and is now set to succeed Michael Penix Jr. in 2024.

Rogers is coming off of a prolific 4-year run at Mississippi State. He departs Starkville with 12,315 passing yards in his career, which is the 2nd-most all-time in SEC history. He’s also thrown for 94 touchdowns so far in his career.

However, Rogers is coming off of a down season 2023. He played in only 8 games for the Bulldogs this past season and finished with a career-low 1,626 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He’ll now jump into a Washington offense that helped propel Penix to the Heisman Trophy ceremony in 2023. Rogers will give the Huskies plenty of experience as they make the transition to the Big Ten in 2024.

Washington is preparing to face Texas in the College Football Playoff.
