Washington hoops adds transfer commit from former SEC veteran point guard
Washington hoops dipped into the transfer portal Wednesday and earned a pledge from another Kentucky Wildcat. A “Washington Wildcats” nickname works well, we suppose.
A year after landing Kentucky transfer Keion Brooks in the portal, the Huskies gained a commitment from former UK and Georgia point guard Sahvir Wheeler. The 5-9 point guard has 4 years of SEC experience and will no doubt make an immediate impact upon arrival in Seattle.
Wheeler is an incredible floor general, but a below average scorer for a guard. He dished out 6.1 assists last season and led the SEC in assists in 2021 and 2022.

Washington has added 3 transfers this offseason, also earning commitments from Fresno State’s Anthony Holland and Portland’s Moses Wood.
