Washington continues to find its footing since the hiring of new head coach Jedd Fisch, and the Huskies were able to keep another key 2024 signee in the program.

The player is Peyton Waters, a 4-star safety out of California. A January enrollee for the Huskies, Waters entered the transfer portal after Kalen DeBoer’s departure to Alabama.

On Wednesday, Waters confirmed he’s going to stay in Seattle and play for Fisch. He tagged Fisch on social media and said “Seattle is home” in his announcement.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, Waters was a 4-star recruit and the 21st-ranked safety in the country per the 247 Sports Composite. He was part of an early enrollee group that 4-star quarterback Dermaricus Davis and 3-star linebacker Khmori House who also returned to the program after testing the portal.

As one of the highest-ranked pieces of the 2024 recruiting class, keeping Waters in Seattle is another big win for Fisch early in his tenure. He has put together a solid roster entering the spring, and he will likely get another chance to add more pieces during the spring transfer window.
