Washington coaching search: Pac-12 coach amongst top candidates to replace Kalen DeBoer, per report
Washington’s coaching search is fully underway following Kalen DeBoer’s decision to leave for Alabama.
According to the Tucson Star’s Justin Spears, Arizona coach Jedd Fisch is amongst the targets to replace DeBoer in Seattle. The report also says Fisch is being evaluated by NFL franchises for their head coaching vacancies.

Fisch has been Arizona’s head coach for the past three seasons. He has helped turn the program around quickly after it went just 0-5 in a COVID-shortened 2020 campaign.
The Wildcats went 1-11 during Fisch’s first year at the helm. However, they have improved by at least four wins in each of the past two seasons. Arizona won 10 games this past season for the first time since 2014.
Washington is expected to be an attractive head coaching vacancy, especially with the Huskies slated to move to the Big Ten next fall. Arizona will play in the Big 12 in 2024.
Arizona is Fisch’s first college head coaching job on a full-time basis. He was UCLA’s interim head coach for two games back in 2017. His coaching experience also includes time in the NFL with a variety of franchises, most recently the New England Patriots.
