Washington defeated Oregon 36-33 on Saturday afternoon to preserve its perfect season.

Facing a 4th and 3 with a four-point lead and under two minutes remaining, the Ducks decided to go for it and try to win the game with their offense on the field. But Bo Nix’s pass fell incomplete, setting up the Huskies with excellent field position on the back end.

From there, Michael Penix Jr. did the rest. Penix led a two-play, 53-yard drive that ended with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Rome Odunze with just 1:38 on the clock.

That touchdown proved to be enough as the Huskies were able to force a 43-yard field goal attempt as time expired in regulation, which was missed.

The field goal sailed wide left, giving Washington its second consecutive win over Oregon. Here’s a replay of the missed field goal:

The game-winning touchdown gave the Huskies a 36-33 lead in their top 10 battle with Oregon. It was Penix’s fourth touchdown pass of the day and and put him over 300 passing yards as well.

Odunze caught two of those TD passes and was a problem for Washington’s secondary for the entire game. He finished the contest with 8 catches for 128 yards, which was a team-high.

Washington is now 6-0 on the season.
