Former Washington OL Geirean Hatchett is officially on the move, confirming a commitment to Oklahoma on Monday.

Hatchett was originally a 4-star recruit in the 2020 recruiting class out of Ferndale, Washington. Oklahoma was among the major programs to recruit Hatchett out of high school, but he ultimately signed with the in-state Huskies to begin his career.

After not appearing in a game during his first two seasons, Hatchett saw action in all 13 games during the 2022 season. He would miss three games due to injury during the 2023 season but was a key piece for Washington’s Joe Moore Award-winning unit.

Hatchett recorded four starts for Washington with 11 total appearances. He returned from injury in the Apple Cup vs. Washington State and would appear in both College Football Playoff games.

Now, he heads to join Brent Venables’ Oklahoma program where he factors to play a key role with two seasons of eligibility remaining:

The late spin of the coaching carousel started by Nick Saban’s retirement shook up rosters around the country. With Kalen DeBoer leaving Washington for Alabama, the Huskies have watched a number of key performers either enter the NFL Draft or opt for new destinations via the portal.
