The sixth-ranked USC Trojans (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12) host the Arizona State Sun Devils (1-3, 0-1 Pac-12) at the L.A. Coliseum Saturday night.

USC is coming off a 17-14 win over Oregon State. The Trojans narrowly escaped disaster in Corvallis thanks to a late touchdown pass from Caleb Williams to Jordan Addison to help lift the squad to a win. Williams delivered the highlight moment, but the USC quarterback struggled before it, completing a career-low 44% of his passes

“Lack of confidence has never been an issue with Caleb Williams,” said guard Andrew Vorhees this week. “I guess I didn’t really realize what was going on in the game on Saturday until after the fact and taking a step back and looking at the stats and everything. But never one point during the game did he seem to be fearful or lose confidence. He was just a leader for us and really helped get the offense going when we were struggling, especially like on those last couple drives. When we did get in the endzone. I think he was a big part of that.”

Arizona State is coming off a 34-13 loss to Utah. It has yet to score more than 14 points against another Power Five opponent so far this season, and quite a bit has changed since the team’s 40-3 win over Northern Arizona to begin the year. But ASU still has talent and interim coach Shaun Aguano thinks they’ve underperformed relative to the ability. Aguano said this week he thinks the Sun Devils have what they need to compete with anyone in the Pac-12.

USC is one of the best the league has to offer. We’ll see. Here’s everything you need to know for the game.

Expert predictions

ESPN’s FPI gives USC a 93.7% chance of beating the Sun Devils.

Bill Connelly’s SP+ is calling for a 35-21 USC win.

USCFootball.com’s Ryan Abraham has the Trojans covering:

USC (-25) – I feel this is a “get right game” for the Trojans, especially on the offensive side of the ball. I think USC bounces back at home and the Sun Devils are just not a very good team. Last week I felt ASU could do some damage against Utah with new interim coach Shaun Aguano but I was wrong. Maybe they get their bounce in week two of the post-Herm era, but I doubt it. Trojans will roll.

Sun Devil Source’s Chris Karpman is picking a 45-13 USC win.
