The USC Trojans will reportedly host one of the top transfer quarterbacks on an official visit this weekend.

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, former UNLV QB Jayden Maiava will take a visit with the Trojans. The QB threw for 3,085 yards with 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season for the Rebels. Maiava also added 277 rushing yards and 3 scores on the ground.

Maiava earned Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors and led the Rebels to a 6-2 conference record.

The Trojans are in the QB market after star QB Caleb Williams declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. Backup QB Malachi Nelson entered the transfer portal, so the Trojans are a little thin at the position. However, Miller Moss got the start in the Holiday Bowl and turned some heads.

Moss threw for 372 yards with 6 TDs and 1 INT in the Holiday Bowl against Louisville. The QB’s 6 TDs are the most that have been thrown in a Holiday Bowl game. Considering the Trojans are still visiting with QBs, however, they may not be convinced that Moss is the guy going forward.

Maiava will have three years of eligibility at his next destination.
