One thing you can confidently say about USC linebacker Eric Gentry: he wants it.

Gentry was knocked out of Saturday’s game against Utah, taken to the team’s medical tent on the sideline for an apparent lower-leg injury in the fourth quarter. But the FOX camera crew caught Gentry hobbling out of the tent on one leg just to meet his teammates on the field and try to fire them up to close things out.

He couldn’t put any weight on his left leg and had to be helped back off the field by the USC training staff.

The former Arizona State defender has been a massive part of USC’s success this season. The 6-foot-6 inside linebacker entered Saturday’s contest with Utah leading the team in tackles (43). He also has 2.5 tackles for loss and a pair of pass breakups on the season.

Gentry had nine tackles and a forced fumble before exiting the game.
