USC on Tuesday added to its wide receiver ranks with the transfer commitment of Jaden Richardson, a San Mateo, Calif. native who spent 4 seasons with the Tufts football program in Massachusetts. Richardson will have 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Richardson announced the news on his X account on Tuesday afternoon, as you can see below:

A 9-game starter in 2023, Richardson totaled 46 catches for 830 yards and 13 touchdowns, ranking 2nd in his conference in the latter category. In 2022, he registered 41 catches for 666 yards and 7 touchdowns. His 20 touchdowns is a career program record while his 13 touchdowns in 2023 is the 2nd-highest single-season total in school history. Tufts was 6-3 this past season.

Richardson now returns to California to wrap his college career up with the Trojans as they head for the Big Ten in 2024. Leading receivers Tahj Washington and Brenden Rice have declared for the NFL Draft while another (Mario Williams) has entered the transfer portal. Duce Robinson (16 catches, 351 yards, 2 touchdowns) and Zachariah Branch (31 catches, 320 yards, 2 TDs) are the team’s top returning wideouts.
