Joshua Morgan, key USC big man, reportedly receives status for Washington matchup
Joshua Morgan was injured during USC’s Thursday night win over Washington State. Now, he’s reportedly going to be out for the next game for the Trojans.
Morgan has started all 22 games for the Trojans this season but was injured after just 5 minutes played against Washington State. Now, Ryan Kartje with the LA Times is reporting Morgan will not play on Saturday against Washington.
Kartje also reports the extent of Morgan’s injury is still unclear. Without Morgan available, Vince Iwuchukwu could be expected to make his first start of the season.
Without Josh Morgan on Saturday, freshman Vince Iwuchukwu is likely to make his first USC start. Iwuchukwu has played in just six games since suffering cardiac arrest during a workout last summer.
He is, however, still under a minutes restriction.

In 22 games, Morgan is 5th on the Trojans with 7.6 points per game and also averages 4.8 rebounds and leads the team with 2.4 blocks per game.
With a win against the Cougars, USC is now on a 3-game winning streak after losing on the road against Arizona. That stretch includes a win over UCLA with the Trojans up to 8-3 in league play and right in the hunt for a Pac-12 title behind UCLA and Arizona.
