Fans blast Alex Grinch, USC's defense after disappointing 1st half vs. San Jose State
USC’s defense has allowed nearly 200 yards of total offense and 14 points to San Jose State in its season debut.
Yes, it certainly seems that USC is back to its old ways after its defense was the likely reason Caleb Williams and Co. did make the CFP 4-team field last season. Defensive coordinator Alex Grinch and co. took a lot of heat on Twitter for the Trojans’ rough first half performance.
And Williams is carrying the Trojans so far. USC’s offense has been able to move the ball at will, allowing the Trojans to enter the half up 21-14.
Check out some of the best reactions to USC’s rough start below:

It would appear USC’s defense remains the reason they can’t be taken seriously

This half has not exactly been a ringing endorsement of Alex Grinch only needing more talent on his defense to fix this thing.

Alex Grinch has to have dirt on Lincoln Riley

San Jose State just scored an actual video game TD, right down to the “ten seconds? We have three plays” time management

Alex Grinch is my biggest mystery in college football. He may single-handedly tank Lincoln Riley’s career.
How does he still have a job.
