Stanford was a recent offer for one of the top linebackers in the country. Now, the Cardinal is still in the mix to land a commitment.

The player is Kari Jackson, a 6-foot-1 and 215-pound linebacker out of West Bloomfield, Michigan. Stanford officially put in an offer in the middle of January and landed on Jackson’s top 7 list on Friday.

Penn State, Maryland, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, UCF and Missouri rounded out Jackson’s list.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Jackson is a 4-star prospect and the No. 21 LB nationally for the 2024 recruiting class. He’s also the 7th overall recruit out of the state of Michigan for the cycle.

As things currently stand, Stanford has just one commitment in the 2024 recruiting class. Adding a 4-star defender like Jackson would be a nice jumpstart to the cycle for head coach Troy Taylor and his staff.
