Stanford flips 2024 tight end from future ACC foe
Stanford has flipped Boston College tight end commit Benjamin Blackburn.
The 2024 recruit announced his decision to leave the BC class on Thursday and join Stanford — which will join Boston College in the ACC in 2024. Blackburn is a 3-star tight end out of Miami (Fla.) Columbus.
The 247Sports Composite ranks Blackburn as the No. 39 TE from the 2024 class. Here’s what Blackburn had to say about the decision:
“I will be de-committing from Boston College but want to thank the BC Staff for their support through the process,” said Blackburn. “With that being said, after receiving an offer from Stanford football, I am excited to announce that I am 1000% COMMITTED and my recruitment is closed!”

His decommitment means that Stanford now has two tight ends pledged from the 2024 class. Blackburn joins 3-star tight end commit Aiden Black at Stanford.
Blackburn had been committed to Boston College since Jun. 17. Arizona was the only other Pac-12 program to offer Blackburn.
Other schools who offered him include Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Duke, Illinois, Illinois, Indiana, and Pitt to name a few.
