Former Stanford DB Justin Reid is showing off his versatility for the Kansas City Chiefs this preseason.

The safety received an opportunity to kick an extra point against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday and absolutely nailed it.

For a player with limited professional kicking experience, that’s an impressive feat. In 2022, NFL kickers missed 64 extra points, meaning usually a couple are missed every week. Reid briefly filled in last year for the Chiefs, and made a PAT.

Reid was a standout for the Stanford Cardinal from 2015-2017. The safety collected 170 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 6 interceptions over three seasons. Reid would end up being selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans.

Reid bolted to the Chiefs in free agency ahead of the 2022 NFL season. Hopefully the DB isn’t thinking of a position change because the Chiefs have one of the best kickers in the league in Harrison Butker.

The Chiefs welcome the Lions to Kansas City on Thursday, Sep. 7 to kick the season off.
