Benedict Umeh, elite DL and top-100 prospect for 2024, reveals Pac-12 commitment
Benedict Umeh is a 4-star defensive lineman out of Connecticut for the 2024 recruiting class. However, he’s heading to the West Coast to begin his college career.
As a prospect, Umeh generated over 30 scholarship offers from top-tier schools across the country. However, he’s committing to Stanford and head coach Troy Taylor, Umeh announced on Saturday.

Umeh is listed at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds out of Avon Old Farms in Avon, Connecticut. He spent June taking official visits to Wisconsin, Duke, Penn State and Stanford before announcing his final commitment to the Cardinal.
According to the 247 Sports Composite, Umeh is a 4-star recruit and the 12th DL prospect in the country. He’s also rated as the No. 81 player for the class of 2024.
Stanford’s 2024 recruiting class
So far, Troy Taylor has things clicking on the recruiting trail for Stanford. The addition of Umeh brings the Cardinal up to 28 players for the 2024 recruiting class, a group that ranks 13th in the country per the 247 Sports Team Composite. Umeh is the highest-ranked prospect in that group.
