Pac-12 announces Media Day set for Las Vegas
The Pac-12 has announced its Media Day plans for later this summer.
For the first time ever, the Pac-12 will hold its annual kickoff in Las Vegas. The 2023 Pac-12 Football Media Day will take place at Resorts World Las Vegas on Friday, July 21. Resorts World Las Vegas will serve as the media day headquarters with ancillary events taking place at Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Super Bowl LVIII and 2023 Pac-12 Football Championship Game, along with multiple MGM Resorts properties throughout Las Vegas.
Las Vegas increasingly has become a hub of sorts for major events throughout the Pac-12.
The 2022 championship game saw Utah defeat USC, led by Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, to clinch the Utes second straight trip to the Rose Bowl. Las Vegas has also been the home of the Pac-12 men’s and women’s basketball tournaments for several years, and those events have set multiple attendance records.
“Continuing with the success of hosting several premier Pac-12 events in Las Vegas, including our football championship game the last 2 years, we are excited to kick off our 2023 season by highlighting our football programs and showcasing our elite student-athletes in Las Vegas,” Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff said in a release. “Having this event in Las Vegas will bring our season full circle in the entertainment and sports capital of the world as we also look forward to crowning the 2023 Pac-12 Champion at Allegiant Stadium in December.”
