Oregon State loses starting defensive lineman to transfer portal
Oregon State edge rusher Sione Lolohea has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports. 247Sports’ Chris Hummer was first to report the news.
A second-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2023, Lolohea becomes the 10th defensive starter to leave the program this offseason. Defensive back Jaden Robinson is the only starter expected back next year.
Lolohea spent four seasons in Corvallis. He’ll have two years to play one at his next school.
A 6-foot-3 defensive lineman, Lolohea played right away in 2020 after signing with the program as a 3-star recruit. He appeared in all seven games during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, then made two starts and eight total appearances in 2021.
During the 2022 campaign, he earned an honorable mention all-conference nod from the Pac-12 after recording 33 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, and two forced fumbles in 12 games.
This season, Lolohea upped his production again, with 47 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and two more forced fumbles in 13 games.
Lolohea joins Jermod McCoy, Akili Arnold, and Easton Mascarenas-Arnold as defensive starters to transfer away from the program since the end of the regular season.
