Luke Musgrave is a special tight end, and he’s doing his best to boost his stock for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Following the Reese’s Senior Bowl, Executive Director Jim Nagy said Musgrave graded out as the best combination of size and speed at the event. Per Nagy, Musgrave had the 16th-fastest max speed in Mobile while hitting 20.05 mph. To put that into context, Musgrave is listed at 6-foot-6 and 255 pounds.

The next heaviest player at the Senior Bowl to post a faster speed was Cincinnati’s Ivan Pace Jr. at 20.58 mph. However, Pace checks in at just 231 pounds.

Those numbers are impressive by themselves, but Nagy also cited sources who believe the TE could hit the 4.4-mark on his 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. That mark is traditionally reserved for wide receivers and defensive backs at the combine, so there’s no denying the physical talent of Musgrave.

During his time at Oregon State, Musgrave posted 47 catches for 633 yards and 2 touchdowns. We’ll see if he’s able to climb draft boards as we get closer to April.
