Jack Velling was an impact performer for Oregon State during the 2023 season. Now, he’s reportedly in the transfer portal and could be on the move out of Corvallis.

Velling spent two seasons with the Beavers and was a key piece of the offense this past season. He was originally a 3-star recruit out of Seattle in the 2022 recruiting class.

Velling finished the 2023 season as the third-leading receiver for the Beavers but led the team with 8 receiving touchdowns. In two seasons, Velling has 45 catches, 719 yards and 11 touchdowns for Oregon State.

Michigan State is certainly an early program to watch if Velling ultimately settles on a move away from Oregon State. Jonathan Smith is the new head coach in East Lansing, and Smith brought Velling’s position coach — TEs coach Brian Wozniak — with him to Michigan State.

Wozniak has been praised for his work with the position group during his time with the Beavers, and Velling was undoubtedly flourishing in the system. We’ll see if that impacts the next destination for the star TE in the portal.
