DJ Uiagalelei is heading back to the ACC for the 2024 season.

The decision comes on New  Year’s Day with Uiagalelei committing to Mike Norvell and the Florida State program per ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Uiagalelei, most recently with Oregon State, returns to the ACC where he spent the first 3 seasons of his career with Clemson.

The QB situation in the transfer portal quickly developed on New Year’s Day with former Washington State QB Cam Ward announcing he was declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. With Ward off the table, Florida State turned its attention to Uiagalelei, giving Norvell a major win heading into 2024.

Without Ward as an option, Uiagalelei headlined the remaining QBs still available in the portal. A former 5-star prospect, he saw extensive action in the past 3 seasons as the starter at Clemson and then at Oregon State in the 2023 season.

This past season, Uiagalelei set a career-high with 2,638 passing yards for the Beavers to go with 21 touchdowns. He also had 6 rushing touchdowns and should be an immediate contributor for the Seminoles after the departure of Jordan Travis to the NFL and Tate Rodemaker to the portal.
