Calvin Hart Jr. has found a home in the Pac-12. The former Illinois starting linebacker is headed to Oregon State.

It’s the second transfer for Hart, who began his career at NC State. He announced his transfer to OSU on social media.

In January, Hart announced plans to return to Illinois. After the Illini’s spring practice, however, he decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal in April.

Hart spent 3 seasons at NC State, redshirting in 2018. He played in 20 games for the Wolfpack before transferring following the 2020 season.

At Illinois, Hart got off to a strong start, earning Bednarik Award National Player of the Week and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors following 1.5 TFLs and a 41-yard fumble return touchdown against Nebraska. He was injured in the season opener and missed the rest of the 2021 season.

In 2022, Hart played in 12 games, making 10 starts at linebacker. He recorded 22 tackles, including 1.5 TFLs, for the season.

Hart arrives at Oregon State with 81 career tackles, including 11.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks.
