Washington State linebacker Devin Richardson is not going to enjoy film study on Sunday.

He was caught in coverage on a first-and-10 play from Oregon just past midfield in the third quarter. Bucky Irving took a swing pass from Bo Nix and Patrick Herbert got out ahead of him to clear the way.

Richardson seemingly lost the ball and had no clue Irving — and, more importantly, Herbert — was bearing down on him. Herbert planted him and Irving raced by for the touchdown to put Oregon up by double-digits.

A closer look at the hit:

The run from Irving put the Ducks up 24-13.

Oregon was playing catch-up for most of the first half until a fourth-down stop late in the second quarter and a huge run from Irving on the ensuing drive set the Ducks up with a 17-10 lead.

Washington State got a field goal just before halftime. Oregon punted on its first possession of the second half, but the defense stood up and forced a three-and-out on Wazzu’s first possession.

Irving’s 42-yard catch came four plays into the drive.
