Tysheem Johnson will play in the Big Ten with Oregon.

The Oregon Ducks safety reportedly announced Thursday that he will be returning to Eugene for another season after a strong 2023 campaign. Johnson has just 1 season of eligibility remaining after transferring from Ole Miss ahead of this past season.

And he’s played well each and every season of college football that he’s played. He started 10 games for Ole Miss as a freshman and 9 the season after. This past season Johnson had perhaps his best year in college football, totaling 68 tackles with 2 interceptions, 6 pass deflections, 1 sack and 4 tackles for loss.

Rejoice, Ducks fans.

Oregon had one of the best secondaries in the Pac-12 last season, thanks in part to Johnson. The Ducks allowed just 222 passing yards per game and finished with the lowest opponent passer rating with 11 total interceptions.
