Oregon got great news Friday.

TJ Bass, a fourth-year junior up front on the Ducks’ offensive line, announced he plans to return for his senior season in 2022. He’s the fifth Oregon junior to announce a return for 2022, joining fellow offensive linemen Alex Forsyth and Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu.

Bass’s return means the Ducks will get four of their five starters back next season from the line that started in Wednesday’s Alamo Bowl. Steven Jones, who started at right guard, also has announced he plans to be back. Additionally, the Ducks will get back a healthy Ryan Walk, who started most of the season, and Jackson Powers-Johnson should presumably move back to the offensive side after filling in at nose tackle for the Alamo Bowl.

Continuity is the name of the game in college football, especially up front along the trenches, and for Oregon to bring back such a huge chunk of its offensive line from the 2021 season, it’s a major win for new head coach Dan Lanning.
