Oregon, with a 35-6 performance on Saturday that left no doubt, picked up its first win over Utah in Salt Lake City since 2016. Afterward, The Duck got one last parting shot in before leaving Rice-Eccles Stadium.

“So much empty,” the Oregon mascot tweeted, alongside a picture of an emptied-out section of the stands inside Rice-Eccles.

Utah had won 18 consecutive games at home heading into the matchup. It had lost just twice at home since the start of the 2018 season. All week, the strength of the Utah student section — dubbed The MUSS — was highlighted as a potentially impactful force over the game.

Oregon took a delay of game before the very first play from scrimmage as the Utah crowd roared. From that point on, Oregon just rolled.

The Ducks scored on their opening possession for the first time since Sept. 23, and they did so in just six plays. After a fumble on its second drive, Oregon scored touchdowns on its next two. Utah found itself trailing 21-3 at home after just a little more than 17 minutes of play.

In the second half, the Utes were shut out.

Oregon now sits at 7-1 on the year. The Ducks will play three of their last four at home.
