Oregon landed a major piece of the 2024 recruiting class via a late commitment from a 5-star wide receiver.

The prospect is Gatlin Bair, an ultra-elite speedster out of Burley High School in Idaho. Bair is regarded as the fastest recruit in the 2024 recruiting cycle and has been clocked with a 10.15 time in the 100-meter dash.

Bair originally committed to Boise State in August 2023, but he reopened his recruitment in December after an impressive season and recruitment process. In the end, the Ducks landed Bair’s pledge over competition that included Michigan, Alabama and TCU.

247 Sports rates Bair as a 5-star player while the 247 Composite has Bair as a 4-star prospect and the 43rd player in the country for the 2024 recruiting class. The composite also rates Bair as the No. 10 WR and the top player from Idaho for the cycle.

While Bair is one of the top players in the 2024 recruiting class, he is not the traditional type of instant-impact prospect. Bair is expected to embark on a two-year LDS mission and will not enroll until the 2026 season.

Either way, his athleticism is off the charts, and he will be a key prospect to watch when he eventually suits up with the Ducks.
