Troy Dye is confident in his alma mater.

The former Oregon linebacker has made a bet with Lewis Cine, his teammate on the Minnesota Vikings and a former Georgia defensive back. The stakes are simple. if Oregon wins, Cine shows up to the Vikings’ facility in Oregon gear. If Georgia wins, Dye wears Bulldogs gear.

“You’re gonna look real good with that green on,” Dye says. “You’re gonna look like that childhood dream. Everybody wants to go to Oregon.”

The 11th-ranked Ducks play the third-ranked Bulldogs on Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia. It’ll be the first game of the Dan Lanning era at Oregon and though the Ducks are a 17-point underdog in the game, neither current nor former Ducks seem to care.

“We don’t really bother ourselves about the opinions of others,” Lanning said Monday. “Nobody in Vegas is going to play in this game; our players are going to play in this game. We know what everyone thinks about our team, and that’s OK by us.”

Former Oregon defensive back Verone McKinley III, of course, also has the Ducks.

The Ducks and Bulldogs kick off at 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC Saturday.
