Oregon and Washington put another chapter in the books of this long and hate-filled rivalry on Saturday. This is only the eighth time the two teams have met when both ranked. UW knocked off Oregon State last Friday, taking the Beavers’ spot in the College Football Playoff rankings.

The Ducks sit sixth in those rankings. Close enough to the field of four to feel even more pressure coming down the stretch? We’ll see. Oregon is a double-digit favorite in the matchup, expected by many to win a fourth straight in the series.

Bill Connelly’s SP+ likes the Ducks to do exactly that.

The predictive model has Oregon winning 37-26, and it gives Oregon a 75% chance of pulling out the win.

We should see an entertaining contest either way. Both secondaries are gettable, and both offenses can really pick apart opposing defenses. With two top-15 scoring offenses, this could be a back-and-forth kind of affair.

“These are some of the best receivers we’ll see,” said Oregon defensive back Trikweze Bridges. “They have a good plan, with the way they operate.”

Said UW coach Kalen DeBoer: “I think (Bo) Nix is playing with a ton of confidence. You can just see the way he’s operating the game has slowed down for him. Man, I can’t say enough good things about what he’s doing leading that offense. They’re one of the best in the country for a reason.”

We’ll see which side can gain the upper hand. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. PT on FOX.
