Dan Lanning has updated his 2024 coaching staff as Oregon gears up for spring practices.

Lanning made some reported moves official. Brian Michalowski has been promoted from analyst to inside linebackers coach.

“We are excited to elevate Brian to a full-time coaching role on our staff,” Lanning said in a program release. “I have a great relationship with Coach Michalowski having worked with him previously, and he has done a tremendous job since arriving in Eugene. He is one of the brightest defensive minds in college football and a terrific teacher of the game, and he does a phenomenal job of connecting with our student-athletes. We are thrilled to have Coach Michalowski here as we continue to elevate our program and build a championship culture.”

Chris Hampton has also had his responsibilities expanded. Hampton, already the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, will coach all defensive backs in 2024. Graduate assistant Rashad Wadood has seen his role elevated to work with Oregon cornerbacks.

UO had more staff updates to share on Wednesday. Defensive analyst Kamran Araghi has moved into a graduate assistant role working with outside linebackers. Former Oregon OL Ryan Walk has returned to Eugene after a season on Mario Cristobal’s Miami staff. Zach Tinker is also back with the team as a special teams analyst.
