Brandon Dorlus is one of two defenders selected as the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.

Following the Ducks’ Week 3 beatdown of BYU, Oregon defensive lineman was named a co-recipient of the weekly honor by the Pac-12, sharing it with Arizona defensive lineman Hunter Echols.

Oregon dominated this particular award a year ago. Bradyn Swinson was honored after the Ducks’ Week 2 win at Ohio State while Kayvon Thibodeaux won it twice. Throughout the offseason, Dorlus had to answer time and time again how the Ducks would go about replacing Thibodeaux’s disruptive force and playmaking ability on the defensive line. His answer: he needed to step up.

And in Oregon’s top-25 matchup with the Cougars this past Saturday, he did exactly that.

The junior defensive end led Oregon with a career-high seven tackles in the win. He assisted on a sack and added 1.5 tackles for loss, his 13th career game with multiple TFLs.

Dorlus and the defense look to keep things rolling this week when Oregon heads to Pullman to take on Washington State. Kickoff in the game is set for 1 p.m. PT.
