Colorado is firmly in the mix for 2024 Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day wideout Bredell Richardson. In what Richardson said is his final eight on Saturday, Colorado is sitting alongside some of the sport’s top programs. The Buffs are finalists alongside Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan, Michigan State, and Notre Dame.

As has been the case since Coach Prime took over in Boulder, the Buffaloes are in the mix for a blue-chip recruit.

A 6-foot-1, 185-pound wideout, Richardson rates as a 4-star in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s a top-150 prospect in the class (No. 117 overall) as well as the 22nd-ranked wideout and the 20th-ranked prospect from the state of Florida.

The previous Colorado coaching staff was in on Richardson, offering him a scholarship last summer. Sanders re-extended the offer last December.

In three seasons so far with the varsity squad at Carrollwood Day, Richardson has 65 receptions for 1,328 yards and 14 touchdowns. He caught four touchdown passes as a freshman, then produced his best season as a sophomore when he hauled in 565 yards and seven scores. He holds a career 20.4 yards-per-catch average and has at least 20 receptions in each of his first three years.

CU already has three known commitments in the 2024 class, including 3-star Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger wideout Daijon Calimon.
