It’s official: Aaron Rodgers will miss the entirety of the 2023 NFL season with a complete tear of his left Achilles tendon.

That’s the definition of brutal for Rodgers, who was entering his first season with a team other than the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers played just 4 snaps as a Jet before going down with the injury.

The Jets are now likely to turn back to former starter Zach Wilson, who was benched last season after a rough start to the year. Wilson came out of BYU and was one of the top available quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL Draft.

As for Rodgers, his future is uncertain. The 39-year old likely still has a few years left in him, but an injury of this magnitude is never good for an athlete his age.
