WATCH: Arizona, Arizona State mascots throw punches during Territorial Cup
The Territorial Cup is a hate-filled affair. The Sun Devils have won five straight in the series and the Wildcats are looking for some respect. To no one’s surprise, Friday’s game between Arizona and Arizona State featured plenty of personal fouls and plenty of chippiness.
That spilled over to the sidelines, too. Sparky and Wilbur were caught throwing hands and spinning heads. It’s unclear if this was a bit between mascots or an actual altercation — bystanders are smiling, even as the two are being separated — but Sparky had some juice behind that right hook that gets thrown just a second into the video. Wilbur’s head was nearly spun off.
The best part of the video might be the Cincinnati Bearcats fan just chilling in the background waving a towel.

This might be the craziest sequence I’ve ever recorded.
Gio Sanders TD puts the Sun Devils back on top. ASU leads 21-17 with 7:08.
