Arizona State and Northwestern will play a neutral site game on Dec. 20 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix as part of a double header with Arizona and Alabama, Jon Rothstein reported.

The Sun Devils will play a return game against Northwestern at the United Center in the 2024-25 season as a pair of former Duke guards in Chris Collins and Bobby Hurley will face each other.

Hurley in March received a contract extension that runs through the 2025-26 season.

Hurley led the Sun Devils to 23 wins this season and their third trip to the NCAA Tournament the last five times it has been played. Arizona State beat Nevada in the First Four before it lost to TCU on a last-second shot.

The Sun Devils have won at least 20 games 4 of the past 6 seasons, and are 141-113 in 8 seasons under Hurley.

Similarly, Collins last month was finalizing a 3-year contract extension after his team won its second-ever NCAA tournament appearance.

Collins won B1G Coach of the Year honors last season, and has led the program since 2013. He is 153-161 overall at the school.
