The sixth-ranked Trojans welcome Arizona State to the L.A. Coliseum Saturday night for a game under the lights. A week ago, USC escaped Corvallis with a 17-14 win over Oregon State. The defense was tremendous in the win, but the offense misfired in ways it hadn’t done weeks prior. Against the Sun Devils, USC is looking for a more complete showing.

“The stuff that’s not done at an elite level is a waste of time. It doesn’t help us win ball games,” you can hear being preached to the team in this week’s game trailer.

The USC creative team dropped the Week 5 trailer Friday night. Check it out below:

Front and center for USC is Arizona State’s potential dual-threat rushing attack. Quarterback Emory Jones hurt teams with his legs a season ago while at Florida. He’s joined in the ASU backfield by former Wyoming runner Xazavian Valladay. That duo could present problems for teams, but it has been stopped up in recent weeks.

Jones has been completely turned into a one-dimensional player by the Power Five opponents ASU has faced. He’s not affecting the game with his legs, and last week against Utah Valladay was similarly taken out of the picture. The team finished with just 51 rushing yards, adjusted for sacks.

Can the Trojans follow up a strong defensive effort with another?

We’ll see. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
