The Beavers picked up their fifth known commit of the 2023 class on Sunday when Lakewood (Wash.) Lakes wideout David Wells Jr. announced his pledge on social media.

“I just see myself playing in their pro-style offense,” Wells told 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman. “They have great connections and we are going to end up having a great 2023 class from Washington down in Corvallis.”

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound wideout is rated a 3-star by the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s the 170th-ranked wideout and the No. 21 prospect from the state of Washington.

Things moved quickly with Wells, who was in Corvallis for an official visit just this past weekend. The Beavers are the first team from the Power Five to offer him, and the visit sealed the deal. He’s the third recruit from the state of Washington to pick the Beavers so far.
