The Wildcats are on an absolute tear on the recruiting trail right now.

On Wednesday, coach Jedd Fisch and Co. added their fourth, fifth, and sixth commits in the last four days. Within an hour of each other, 3-star athlete Gavin Hunter and 3-star linebacker Kamuela Kaaihue announced their commitments to Arizona. Then, later in the evening, 3-star defensive lineman Dominic Lolesio announced the same.

A 6-foot-2 athlete from Mililani (Hawaii), Hunter doesn’t have a star rating in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, but he is rated as a 3-star by 247’s own evaluators. He’s rated as the 141st athlete in his class.

Kaaihue is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker prospect from President Theodore Roosevelt (Hawaii). Like Hunter, he doesn’t have a composite score, but does have a 3-star grade from 247’s evaluators. He’s rated as the He was in Tucson this past weekend for an official visit.

A 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive lineman from Long Beach Poly (Calif.), Lolesio is also unranked in the 247 Composite. He’s rated by 247Sports as the 151st defensive lineman in his class. As a junior last fall, he was credited with 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in nine games.

All three of Arizona’s newest recruits were in Tucson this past weekend on official visits. After the success on the trail last cycle, it’s clear what Fisch is selling is resonating with Arizona targets.

The 2023 class stands 10-deep now for the Wildcats, with seven of the known commitments coming on the defensive side of the ball.
