Michael Penix Jr. captures Nike QB Challenge during Manning Passing Academy
Michael Penix Jr. was at the Manning Passing Academy this week. On Friday, he participated alongside a number of college quarterbacks in various skill competitions.
While Tennessee’s Joe Milton generated a lot of fanfare for his powerful arm, Penix ultimately took home the honor as the winner of the Nike QB Challenge. Part of that challenge consists of 3 moving golf carts with Penix going a perfect 3-for-3, including a gorgeous deep ball to clinch the award.

A season ago, Penix helped lead a Huskie offense that ranked 7th nationally with 39.7 points per game. Washington eclipsed 40 points 6 times and 50+ points 3 times while going 11-2 with an Alamo Bowl win.
Penix finished the year with over 4,600 yards passing while completing 65% of his passes with 31 touchdowns. With a number of key returners entering 2023, many are watching Penix as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate if he is able to replicate the success of a season ago.
