Washington State’s Jake Dickert got excellent news on Sunday.

Waxahachie (Texas) Navarro College wideout Brandon Hawkins will be a Cougar. The junior college receiver announced his commitment to Washington State on Twitter, picking Wazzu just a few weeks after earning an official offer from Dickert and Co.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound receiver gives Washington State its 14th known commitment for the 2023 class. He joins Brandon Hills and Carlos Hernandez as receivers in the class.

Hawkins’ Hudl tape lists the receiver as possessing a 4.46 40 time. He should fit right in with what the Cougs want to do at inside receiver. He’ll have three years to play two at Washington State.

In eight games for Navarro this season, Hawkins leads the team with 28 receptions for 586 yards (20.9 a catch) and four touchdowns. He posted a 128-yard, two-touchdown game on Sept. 10 and then a seven-catch, 172-yard performance on Oct. 15.
